The Last Session!

I had to redo this session as I received only one research outline and could thus not reflect on them collectively. I understand many of us are traveling, with not-so-ideal internet access.

First, greetings

Greetings from the UN ECOSOC event on SDG4: Education. I attended the meeting yesterday instead of Dr. Monteiro. Here are some take-aways for global feminism and the media:

1. Globally, the funding for education is decreasing.
2. There are 100 million potential students in the world without access to higher education.
3. Girls and women are still disadvantaged, especially regarding higher ed, for economic and cultural reasons. Still, educating girls and women is the most “secure” investment in development, with the most far-reaching results.
4. Technology will revolutionarize access to education. But…
5. Tech is neutral. Content matters. Our edu systems are still responding to the needs of the industrialization era. We will see more innovation in educating values, responsibility, compassion, and collaboration; rather than facts and figures. This, clearly, will related to teaching norms and values regarding gender equality.
